Anyone Try the DWS 06 Plus on 22's? Better Ride Quality?

Curious if anyone has put the Continental DWS 06 Plus tires (275 front/315 back) on their X7? Curious to hear your thoughts on noise and ride quality? Better or worse?

Thx!

I put these tires on a Tesla Model Y - exceptional grip and performance. They are extremely noisy over bumps and expansion joints, etc. the reverberating sound they omit is really frustrating. While I love the grip, I’ll stay away from these tires in the future and stick with general A/S tires.

Not sure if that experience would translate to a SUV or ICE vehicle but I am disappointed by the NVH.

Out of curiosity did you notice a decrease in range in your Tesla? I'm thinking of putting these on my iX.

We put them on our 2023 X7 and they are a huge improvement over the stock 22 Conti's. Smoother and quieter !!

I put them on and they are better overall than stock conti. Drive is a little more “bouncy” and I feel less connected to road when driving aggressive but for daily driving they are softer and quieter.

Overall, no. I’m still averaging +/- 5% of original mileage coming from Conti LX.

Thanks for input everyone!

Curious....did you have any trouble ordering & getting the DWS 06 plus tires installed? Since it's not an "approved" tire?

Can Discount Tire get them and put them on? TireRack? etc....Thx

My local DT store i deal with not concerned about speed rating less than oem. They are concerned about weight and the dws are ok with weight

So is it only speed rating that these tires don’t meet? With this being the only all season available for the 22” seems like a good option as long as deemed safe for the load.

The speed rating for the Front size vs Rear size tires is different. However, both meet or surpass the required speed rating for X7

its not that it doesnt meet. TR and other retailers wont list them as a set because the speed rating doesnt match between the front and rear sets.

the speed limiter of the X7 is a max of 155. W is 168. Y is 186. both exceed the max speed the X7 can attain.

the load rating meets or exceeds stock. i think the front has a higher rating than stock, rear is the same.

i put these on my 2017 X5 diesel and have been happy. they ride well. they have a 50k warranty. the front tires wore out after 25k miles and discount tire replaced under warranty pro rated. now have almost 50k on them and would replace with the same. i do notice road noise but don't know if it is a result of towing. about 50% of the miles on these tires have been when towing my airstream.

I've installed these on my 2024 X7 - ride quality and noise level is OK but balance has been an issue. I've had it back to the same shop 3X and they can't get them to road force balance out perfectly. The vibration isn't terrible but it is noticeable between 72-80MPH.

Even with the minor vibration issue, IMO its still a better option than switching between summer and winter wheels.

I got these installed today. '23 X7 M60i. So far, smooth and quiet, and I do not notice any difference in driving dynamics from the Pirellis.

We will see how they handle in the winter and snow, but I am excited about not having to switch out tires twice a year. I will report back later in the winter.

Thanks to those in these forums who turned me on to these tires!

The real question is do they perform well in the snow?

I'm about to purchase something for the Wisconsin winter and debating whether I try these new all-seasons or do a dedicated snow tire. I think I'll end up with snows but this option from Continental is tempting.

if you get alot of snow, you would probably be better off with an all weather tire.
vredestein quadrac pro in 285/40/22
or the michelin crossclimate 2 or pirelli scorpion weatheractive in 285/45/22

or just go with dedicated snows

im considering the dws06 plus for my 22s even though i have dedicated 20" snows. the conti premium contacts look like they will not last much past 7K miles at the rate they are wearing. the dws06 plus should last much longer

Question for GDWheel....i'm thinking about swapping out my Pirelli's for these DWS06+.....do you notice any difference in ride quality? Are they "softer"? Are the quieter? or about the same as the stock Pirelli's? Thx

I have only had them on for a day, but they definitely seem quieter and softer. The ride comfort is good, and I do not notice much of a difference in cornering, etc. They are not runflats, so there is that. I am very pleased, but it has only been a day. I will report back after more experience with them.

Same question for me. Time will tell. SD.

I have had Bridgestone All-Seasons on an x5 and they performed pretty well. I hope these perform the same as they did. I am sure they will not perform like a true winter tire, but, for me, not having to switch out the tires twice a year is huge.

I am hoping that with decent snow performance and the capabilities of the X7 it will be fine.

Some additional info in case it helps.

I ordered from Tire Rack and had them installed by Discount Tire. The TR rep called me after receiving my order to double-check on everything and make sure DT would not have a problem installing them. He said DT is very picky if there are any differences in specs from the OEM tires.

He pulled up everything, and these are .2 inches larger in diameter than the OEM Pirellis. He said that the difference was insignificant and that there would not be a problem. There wasn't. He did not say anything about the different speed ratings between the front and the back.
