Both brake notifications on at same time
Last week the fronts had 6000 miles left and the rears had 14000. But after driving around on some ice with dtc on and off. The next day the "brake" light is on and the red car on lift symbol is on. And both the front and rear pad life have ----- instead of the mileage amount.
The fronts do look low and I believe it's been activated by the sensor. The rears have some pad life. Brake fluid level looks good and at the max. Why is the car telling me both need replacing?? Am I missing something? I plan on pulling the rear passenger wheel off tomorrow to do a visual inspection of the sensor |

Don't be alarmed. This is no different than a woman telling you she's pregnant. Like BMW, she wants access to your money sooner rather than later.

Pretty funny......I also have both lights on but all of my pads are good. I'm going to try and reset the lights per a youtube video I saw a while back.....

My car had 6k and 7k miles left and suddenly the lights came on. It's just a matter of when the sensor breaks. Remember the mileage displayed are only "estimates".
I did the brake replacement myself at home to save the labor expenses. Stealer and few shops wanted $600+ just for labor. It was not as easy as I had hoped but managed to do it |

Update: checked the rear sensor and all looked good still had plenty of pad left. Check the sensors continuity with multimeter and it was good. Then I replaced the brake fluid in the reservoir and made sure the level is was good. After this I attempted to reset the rear pad warning and it would not let me reset the rear or front. I then removed the front caliper and saw the sensor had been contacting the rotor. So I cut the sensor and tied the wires together. After doing this it allowed me to reset both front and rear warnings.
So I will be ordering a new set of pads and rotors tomorrow. |
