M235i oil spec?

Does anyone know what oil the f44 m235i takes? Seen lots of different answers online and can’t tell which one is used for this engine.

Also how long is your oil lasting in your car?

I had a warning come up 2 months ago asking me to top up 1 litre of oil and now it’s telling me to do it again. Seems like my cars drinking it or I have a leak.

Thanks

B48 engine is 0w30, 0w40, 5w40 as long as they are LL04.

What distance driven between need to add oil? I have been BMW owner for the past 50 years, and most went 10000 without need for oil, but one engine needed it every 1000 miles (and I had broken in the engine properly from new off the lot)...and even that was deemed within 'normal' by BMW!

I absolutely would have zero concern about 2000 miles between addition of oil!...the one engine that I had with 1000 miles between quarts was an annoyance more than a true concern for me.

Depends on where you live tbh... In Australia BMW recommends LL01 due to our fuel quality.

Yes, but europe cars have OPF/PPF, which require LL04.

As long as the oil has LL04, it is ok. I would recommend 0W-30/40 or 5W-30/40.
