For anyone out there that might be getting driven to distraction….

Recently my car developed an annoying vibration sounding buzzing, from somewhere in the back near side interior area, I had a look and couldn’t see anything obvious but then I noticed that the metal tongue on the safety belt for the middle rear passenger which retracts into the front edge of the parcel shelf wasn’t clipped into the retainer on the parcel shelf and the guide slider on the belt was resting on the plastic trim around the aperture on the parcel shelf where the belt feeds from, I clipped the metal tongue back into its retainer and…success, vibration buzzing noise gone,

thinking on the timeline the noise was only apparent following the car being in for its first / 2 year service at the local supplying BMW dealer on the 15th of April this year and on the basis that no one has even sat in the back seats of this car in its 4,000 odd mile life my theory is that the dealer technician checked the seat belts as part of the service.

Just glad that my investigation solved the issue.
