BMW F40 118i M135i Genuine M Performance Shadow Line Gloss black front grille

Got this new style of front grille from Bmw. However there's an extra step you need to do when you install a M135i front grille on a non M135i car, the intake flaps have to be removed. There won't be any fault codes or notifications showing that there is an error. Here is how it was removed.

Has anyone got this also and or fixed the issue
To protect my warranty I'm removing this grill and replacing it with the following which is acceptable full active grill cars.

Hi Everyone,
Quick question: Is it possible to NOT remove the intake flaps and install only the grille? My concern is that the cooler remains unprotected after removing it.

Cheers!

Update?

Hi, Can anyone walk me through this or recommend a UK fitter/styler who can replace my 118d m sport grill with the diamond mesh M135i grill i.e. remove adapt active grill in such a way to avoid CEL faults?
Thanks. I’ve seen the previous post from iCARMIX but I’m struggling to see exactly what’s happening from the picture. Also the thread suggests some followers still reaped fault codes… I’m grateful for any help on this…
