Which eccentric shaft sensor

I am about to replace the valve cover on my 2006 325xi wagon and would like to have on hand the eccentric shaft sensor in case mine is showing signs of oil infiltration. FCPro has VDO, Vemo and BMW. Suggestions?

Continental/VDO. I believe that is the OEM manufacturer and BMW just puts its name on it.

Can I tell if I have an oil problem before I remove the valve cover?

What type of oil problem?

If there is no oil in the ESS connector, the sensor is probably still good. It is good to have one on hand, and may be a good idea just to replace it?

I pulled the connector off the sensor and there is a little oil in there so I will go ahead and replace. Thank you!
