My car has been bought used, that's right.
But I don't carry my car on my arm, on my bare skin the whole day...
When the steering wheel and shift knob look to messy I just replace them

A used watch can carry all sort's of leftover's from the previous owner's.

These are the thing's that would disgust me in the first place when thinking about a used watch.
That's why YUK!

Other then that, it's the way a watch purchase just shouldn't be done in my oppinion.

Once you get that mindset ...sky is limit!
Hope I managed to clarify this time.

Now that I know what he meant, I see that not knowing was better.

I don't think it's what he meant but don't you think lots of strange things can happen in a car that would scare you from owning secondhand, in far greater excess than a watch. Unless the guy is a gynecologist and elbow deep all day with his watch on don't see an issue.

There should be a premium on said gyno watch in this case.

In a word, yes.

Indeed, I'm hard pressed to see what could be so gross about a watch, not matter what one does with it that a dunk in a sink of soapy water wouldn't fix.

All the best.

My brother used to toss his Submariner in a pot of boiling water every once in awhile to clean it up really well. You can't do that with your German luxury coupe!

I don't know it's just one thing to get a filthy watch, the other side of the coin is
it's a much cooler thing to go to the dealer, to the authorized dealer, check a few, drink a glass of champagne, talk, re-think, ...you know the whole procedure, then finally register a brand new watch over the new digital card's they offer these day's and you know just plain and simple celebrate you were able to buy it brand new!
That's my .2 cent's

Do you shake hands? Are you willing to touch door handles? Sleep in hotel beds?

When you move, do you replace all the plumbing fixtures right away (especially the toilets)?

How do you defecate when you don't have home-field advantage?

Love the Calibre!!

I'm considering buying my first more expensive watch and I just wanted to get opinions on a few that really catch my eye for the type of look, design, and price point I like. These are USED watches - not new.

1. Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 like this: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=395254
or like this:
http://chronocentric.com/forums/chro...=read;id=37562

Stainless band, possibly a gray face with silver rose. I really love the look of this watch and the only thing I dislike is that the second hand is quite small so I can't enjoy seeing the regular movement as much. I understand this is a combination of a few seiko movement parts and the rest is in house at tag - it's all good.

2. Ball Fireman Stormchaser Pro like this:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f30/bal...5-1545618.html

Again, would seek out a stainless band of some sort but this is a great look as-is

...

Just looking for some opinions or insights. I want a very reliable/low maintenance watch that looks great suited up or on a more casual day out. I really like the Tag 1887 and the Ball Fireman Stormchaser.

New to this, so really almost any knowledge is worthwhile to share with me.

Little does he know, the person packing his items sneezed/coughed into their hands before they shipped it off to him.
