Petrol F44 (non-M235i) Missing (UK)

Hi All,

I've just noticed that the 218i is not showing up a price on the UK configurator. It was before, as I had configured one that I wanted to order. but it appears that it has gone?!

Does anybody know if they are discontinuing the 218i from the UK and just sticking to the diesel models (not including the M235i, of course)?

It makes a huge price difference if I'm forced to go diesel!!

You're right, showing same thing for me, very strange! Haven't heard anything about the removal of the petrol option, I've got one on order scheduled for delivery in December.

Wonder if it's something to do with this, apparently a new 216 diesel variant of the 2GC coming in November...

Yeah, I've managed to find this: https://www.automotiveworld.com/news...f-autumn-2020/

Outstanding economy is the hallmark of the new entry-level diesel engine for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The 3-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW 216d Gran Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions: 108 – 99 g/km) provides a maximum output of 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. It transmits its power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard and enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds.

Looks like there's a new 216 diesel coming. I'm in the process of placing my order for the 218i so hopefully that goes through. Because I definitely don't want a 216D!
