Kick boot not working after yellow DRL installed

Good evening all

I have a BMW one series and M135i (2021)

My car went into BMW today and I asked him to have a look while the kick boot wasn’t working. They told me because I had aftermarket software on there all they think it’s down to having yellow DRL’s installed. I had them installed in December by Motech in Wellingborough. Has anyone else experiences problem Just wanna make sure it has not messes anything else up?
And is this normal?

There's no sofware required for the yellow drl's. I have them as well, bought them from AutoID and my boot works fine.
