Video from USB

Hi All
Can anyone tell me what size the video has to be to fill the screen in my 218i Gran Coupe ? I can play videos from a USB stick, but they don't fill the screen like the BMW winter video message sent the other day.

May I ask if you enabled any special option to play videos on your 218i GC? In mine, I can only hear the sound with no picture...

Hi No
I just put any of my MP4 videos on to a USB stick, format fat32 and select Videos from the menu, and they play automatically on the screen, but not the full width of screen!

Maybe you used an unlocking app, such as BIMMERCODE? Can you play any type of video or just MP4s?

I unlocked the feature 'video in motion' using the Bimmercode app + OBD BT code reader.
It can play .mp4 and .mkv from an SSD that I keep in the centre console.
The SSD was USB3.0 but I got a small USB C convertor and it works a treat.

EDIT - I think the full resolution of the screen is 1920 x 720. Just recode a small 1min video with Handbrake at that resolution and try it out.
