Saw the email come through but didn't click on it. Does look like a good read, thanks, I might have otherwise deleted it.

Great article. I love the line regarding getting into the G80 and having the car say "YOU ARE A SPECIAL PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY". I think that about sums up what the M3 has become.

Sublime00 You beat me to it with this thread. For anyone who owns an M3 now, or has ever owned an M3, then this article is for you. It's a good read packed with history, technical specs and great photos. The lineage and heritage of the M3 are well captured in one comprehensive article.

The interesting thing about every M3 review is that almost every reviewer said the same things about them. And now, decades later (for some), every one of those reviews holds up and the new generation of reviewer also says the same things

They did a separate article on it and the E46 as well.

I "grew up" with the E46 M3, it was just a raw/visceral indescribable experience. Especially the steering and suspension. The E92 was a logical evolution, but more refined in many ways. Just like each generation after it get's a bit more refined.

The E46 was just so far ahead of everything else in it's time. The gap keeps closing between the M3 and it's competitors each year, which is why the newer generations don't carry the same cachet. Not to take anything away from the newer generations.

This probably one of the best articles about classic BMW. I grew up with tons of E30 in my family and around the neighborhood. The M3 was and is always something special.
