I imagine it would go against the GLS63, but its not an exactly direct competitor given the Escalade (in Short-Wheelbase) is already physically larger than the already large GLS and rides on a body-on-frame platform. Being that it shares its engine with the CT5 Blackwing expect similar output figures.

The poor front-end visibility of this design is a big negative. I get the appeal...it looks menacing and powerful, but its over-the-top in my view.

I'm not into this stuff. 2-3 years and it will be ancient technology that ruins the value of the car. Mercedes patented this type of depreciation.

Damn, just like the current Escalade, the model I want is the Sport Platinum 4WD with the diesel motor, however the market adjustments on these is insane ($18,000+ market adjustment). I can only imagine how much people will be paying over MSRP for the Escalade IQ
