Extended Warranty?
So I have a 06 E90, with about 45,000 miles on it, my factory warranty runs out May of this year. I am thinking about getting the extended warranty but, I am considering purchasing the new X3 when it comes out, since my 3 series is a non XI. I was thinking that resale would be much better if it had the extended warranty, but is the extended warranty transferable to the buyer if I sold my car privately?

Thats a really good question, but i think the warranty is something you can pass along without issue. If the warranty is extended, its extended...if you sell it privately, i dont see why that would void a warranty that you purchased on the PRE existing condition of the vehicle.
This is just speculation, but i bought the 7 year warranty on the interior, exterior and stuff and thats something that can be passed on...i cant see why any other warranty of that nature would follow the same standards. |

Yes it is transferable. Even if you sold it to Carmax it still transfers to whomever they sell it to.

It depends on what warranty you get. If you get the car CPO'd from a dealer then yes its transferable.

Don't buy it just for resale. The market won't reward you for it. Do buy the warranty if you are going to keep the car for a substantial amount of time after the original warranty is expired

how much does it cost to extend the warrantry for a CPO?
Assuming I buy an 06330i CPO, and I want to extend the bumper to bumper warranty (is that the CPO warranty?) how much would that cost me? |
