Engine oil change on MyBMW app

Hi, this is the first bmw I have bought. 118i F40, an approved used one from a main dealer. I got it a month ago. Since then, I check the mybmw app every now and then. One thing I noticed today is that the recommended engine oil service mileage changed. It was 19001 mile or 2024 before, but today it became 18001 mile or 2024. I got the car with the mileage ~17900 and now it is 18300. I am not sure whether it is because the weather is getting cold, or anything else is wrong. Or this recommended mileage is the distance I run, rather than the total mileage?

BMW have been using variable service intervals for decades.

That means the ECU continually evaluates driving conditions and your driving style. So, the mileage is variable.

To answer your question: No, the stated mileage is how far before the car needs a service, not what the odometer shows.
