Owner Loyalty Program for M3/M4
Was anyone able to claim Owner Loyalty Program cash purchase credit as per www.bmw.ca/en/topics/owners/owners/offers.html for M3/M4 purchase?
If so, was this discount handled as a separate discount by BMW Canada (purchase credit=incentive? lowering the MSRP) or it was somehow incorporated into the discount amount negotiated with the SA at the time of order? The website does not list any M cars, so I would assume M3 would fall under the 3 series $1,000 credit, if the M3 is even included in the Program. |

Some dealers' website do list the loyalty incentive.
purchasers should always negotiate the deal on the car first and once done, then tell them about your entitlement to the loyalty credit of $1,000 or further reduction on the interest rate. This program is administered by BMWFS, not by the dealer. Once the dealer acknowledges this entitlement, then this incentive is used to further adjust to your just negotiated deal. If you told your dealer before hand, then he/she may try to group this under one big discount # and may give you the wrong impression that you got your car at a great deal. |

So I assume I can proceed with your scenario and contact the BMWFS closer to delivery to request this purchase credit to be applied to my order. My question was also whether this purchase credit is handled as something BMW Canada offers (as an incentive), or if this is a discount lowering dealership profit on the sale. In that case the SA could say that he already considered "the brand loyalty discount" even though it was not discussed at all. |

loyalty is not dealer participation thus will not hit the dealer margin at all. I believe once the dealer is made aware of your entitlement, dealer will tag onto this credit onto the final agreement and afterwards, dealer will seek reimbursement from BMWFS.
In my opinion, it's always better to get this done at the dealer level. There is a grey area which BMWFS may disagree with your submission claim such that they can suggest that your loyalty credit is already reflected and included in the agreement. If so, you may have a harder time in convincing BMWFS that was not the case, thus meaning, the dealer will have absorbed your credit into their bottom line. As I was saying, you can be very direct to your SA by simply telling him/her that 'I am looking for x% off on the car + $1000 loyalty credit + fees + taxes'. In this way, no misunderstanding and you know what you are getting in discount. As for dealer throw ins, the typical rubber mats and wheel locks, etc. If you want something of the Mparts accessories, then ask for $x credit voucher for parts. Everything is open for negotiation. You just have to ask for it. Last edited by bobblehead; 06-23-2015 at 02:15 PM.. |

My deal has been done 3 weeks ago and car goes into the production in week #28. So I do not expect to be able to change the deal by adding any dealers throw ins. But as per your explanation the loyalty credit should be fairly easy to add. I have also signed up for the M Power tour that will take place before the delivery. So I am hoping to get some useful voucher for new car purchase at the event. |

if it is a done deal, then you should discuss with your SA that you are expecting the loyalty credit to be adjusted on the final agreement. I hope you SA will not tell you that "Oh! your discount is already adjusted to include loyalty"
btw, you should also check out if you qualify for more discount under "Fleet" http://www.bmw.ca/content/bmw/market...ate-Fleet.html |

It would be helpful to find out when BMW announced this program for 2015, because we verbally agreed on the deal at the beginning of April. |

loyalty credit have been in active for many, many years. Initially, for just the 3 series lease & finance customers, it has now been expanded to other series. virtually all series (since 2014 or so)
When I bought my M5 back in 2012, I was a current 5 series owner and the loyalty program was not in place for my continuation to buy the M5. |

I received a dealer discount + loyalty discount + fleet discount. Also the lease rate dropped during production so I received an additional rate discount on delivery.

How do you get a fleet discount and how much was the discouint? Does your company or group have to lease or buy 5 or more BMW's?
