When will more engines come to the F40?

Does anyone have any idea what new engines are coming soon? Here in the UK we still have just a 3 cylinder 118i or the range topping M135i and nothing in between! I'm hoping for a 125i with around 230hp...!!

Yet there are 116d, 118d & 120d... Why BMW are still pushing diesel engines I really dont know!

I'm even wondering if they will leave the line up as is, and hope those wanting warmer engines will get into the new 2GC!!

I expect an electric version of the F40 to arrive with a quite similar setup as the electric Mini.

There should be a 120i soon and a "128ti" is rumored for later this year.

I think previously diesel engines are really popular in Europe. With the entry level 1 series, they are focused in the mass market? I'm not really sure but it seems quite a long delay in releasing different petrol engines for a car maker like bmw.

How is the engine mounted for the 118i? If it is transverse mounted that might explain the delay in releasing more petrol engines as the new F40 has a FWD drive train. My guess, I could be wrong.

It is transverse. Same as all F4x, 3 and 4 cylinder, so I don't see how that would matter.

Yeah surely all they would need to do is provide a slightly de-tuned version of the lump that's in the M135i (say with 200-240ps), and make it front wheel drive rather than X-Drive ?
