First ever convertion F40 from Sportline to M pack
Hi to everyone.I'm very glad about my new project that have done.
After a long search on web i found a complete set of used bumpers with all of their accessories in excellent condition like new.The next step was to find a set of sidekirts and the rear top spoiler so it happened. But it will be needed extra brackets and some more little parts that is compatible only with the M packet bumpers.I ordered all of this from my local dealer. All fits as plug n playbut the only modification that must be done is if you choose to put the M performance kindey grill you must remove the clapping behind of the grill. The reason is that this grill is vertical on the front side and the stock was curved. You clip out this panel and all will be ok with no errors. The hole parts that purchase was front bumper M rear bumper M side skirts M with black stripe rear top spoiler M kidney grill front M performance in shadowline black front splitter from Maxton Design in gloss black M side emblems The extra parts that i need about the fitment was: both side rear bumper's brackets M front bumper absorder M both sides at the front "triangle" wheelarch trims M air duct M about the transmission cooler and a few clips and nuts. I will post photos from the car in whole the process before and after the convertion. Enjoy them |

Looks good Spyros
Would be interested to know how difficult the front bumper removal is as I might consider swapping my grill to the gloss black over serium grey. Was this all your own work or done by a bodyshop for you?

Thanks a lot mate .The whole job done in to the paintshop. The difficult section which has the front bumper was the 2 screws per side that unite the fender with the bumper underneath of the wheel arch.

Spyros, did you not go MSport from the start as the cost is a kit in your region?
How long did you have the E81 for? Never had one myself but still recall the launch and how much of a game changer it was in the segment...and look at all the 1s now!!

I am with my 118i F40 come with M sport package which include the M sport front bumper. I get installed the M performance shadow line front grill which same as you got in my car. But i just notice that my air flap panel haven't removed. I just realized that the air flap may need to be removed to plug in the M performance shadow front grill. But strange is that even i haven't remove the air flap, the shadow line front grill still can install and fit. May i know is there any fault code raised on your car after you removed the air flap panel ? And actually will that have any impact if remove the air flap panel ? And is it difficult to remove the air flap panel ? Thanks mate ! |

Hi! They look awesome. Was it difficult to remove the mirror caps ? Did you have to remove the mirror or the cap will come off without having to ? I've seen both ways of doing, but not sure if varies from model to model.
Thanks! |

Kalispera,
At first your works are awesome and the car looks super (ftou - ftou). I would like to do some modifications also (i have a black one), maybe the m-pack is too much for my standards. I am thinking to go for the black kidney grill, mirror caps, one exhaust, new wheels 18' and a front splitter. I have also asked Schnitzer for tuning, however nothing yet. May i ask from where i can supply the carbon wing mirrors caps? Thanks! Alex. |
