godaddy.com

Cheap, user friendly, multiple platforms, and has lots of tools available.

i've been through many webhosts, including godaddy (which i personally think sucks as a webhost), and my recommendation is hostgator.com. finding a webhost is like shopping for a used car, but i've had nothing but good experiences with host gator. i've had lots of bad webhosts, but host gator has been spot on. i host a local car forum with a couple hundred users so stability is a big thing for me.

+1. Never had a major issue and their tech support is the best in the business. You *always* get someone who speaks American English and knows exactly what he/she is talking about. Been with them for years, with a dozen or so websites hosted. Got some email accounts with them as well.

Although I can't vouch for hostgator through experience, I can vouch for Blake. I'd go with a suggestion of his regarding this subject in a heartbeat. YMMV.

I use MediaTemple. They are pretty decent with good support. I had to go on their forum and rip them 7 new assholes ones to get an issue resolved, but other than that they are great. 5 of my clients also use them without any issues.
