Mercedes new design language is a tough sell. I couldn't do it as a sales person.

They're most likely going to target the brand whores. This what bmw might be doing with this gran coupe too

Brand loyalty is what sustains the longevity of major businesses. That doesn't give manufacturers a pass to be mediocre while saving a few dollars.

I completely agree but not everyone can afford the s-class, or 7 series, or 911's. Got to have a lower tier to fund new projects. Hence these low end models and savs/suv

There is a picture out there, if someone is so kind to post it, of a beautiful girl with a line across her face reminiscent of this bmw hood shut line.
Is that the way she came from the factory though ? :

Wow. Have you not noticed the 3 series seems to be a little larger than it used to be ?

When you say " insecurity of society " - instead " Think "...

Audi A3
Mercedes-Benz CLA
Lexus IS
VW CC ( upcoming as Arteon)?

Like literally every major competitor for bmw has a model in this space...

Agree with you whole heartedly. Hell 911 prices do not fit my budget lol and I understand the importance of the tiers. The efforts could have been consolidated further into the 3 series line but presently, auto manufacturers want to be king of sales. Who sells the most car without compromising heritage and overall brand stature.

I guess I shouldn't have characterized BMW as the leeches. They are in the business to make money. Its just fascinating that cars are literally being designed in so many different ways just for "exclusivity" ...oh you got the standard 2er...."ha I got the GC...stand for "GOLDEN CAMSHAFT" ...

Im just more baffled by a coupe getting two doors added on; or an suv has two doors removed; or looks like is been stepped on.

not a big fan of the looks of a 2 series; just my opinion

Yeah I don't think no brands are an exception to this except maybe the Uber luxury like Rolls, Aston, etc.

You guys are hilarious! Last time I checked, AutoBild does not work for BMW. It will NOT look like this. Early X2 renderings were way off too.

Must be the FWD curse!

I couldn't agree more, but the Audi A3/S3/RS3 is the same way. The back seats are way small. At 6' tall I simply don't fit. This will surely be the same. Too small for my consideration.

Classic bmw forum.

Filled with hate for everything new that comes out. I'm not sure why people even come on here to hate so much. Seems like a waste of time

Not only that but this is the perfect replacement for my old e46. I can't wait until we get the m235i xdrive gran coupe with the turbo 4 and 300hp. Perfect next car for me if it's less than $45k and a liftback

It looks great for an entry level BMW. Compared to the new CLA and A3, this looks competitive!
