Awesome, BMW have fit everything I wanted into the new 1er:
  • The gaping new grills from a 2019 X5
  • The 'Smashed-in from the factory' rear-end look of a Nissan Cube
  • A four-cylinder eco-turbo out of a generic buzzbox
  • Two driven wheels at the front (and the option of AWD)
  • An automatic gearbox
  • And a //M sticker in front of the model number of a non-M car.

Thanks BMW, I'm sure it'll be "Sheer Driving Pleasure".

It will be. It will be a cool car to drive, and it will be a practical car with a good amount of space.

Noone needs mini here, but bmw sells very well as it is a minstream product. Thats why. Becouse of $$$.

No, they're SUV's/crossovers, the 1 series is a small hatchback, same as a VW Golf (GTI).
"Same difference", lol

Sadly, I think they've already shown us the weirder future.

Umm, no. A Mini is a Mini and a BMW is a BMW, even if they share parts.

Wait, what? That's pretty much the first paragraph in every news article about the F40, and it's the one thing everyone whines about on internet forums. I think the grasp is quite broad...

Okay, the badge matters to some people. Cool, I have only bought cars based on how they drive. I'd rock a Tata if it had a manual, steering feel and rwd.

Just not in this thread. Every third post is "when do we get the six?"

I just threw up looking at those grills. Hideous I really hope they don't ruin the g80 m3.

is it just me or does the front of the F40 really look very similar to the F52 2er sedan?

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

It's not just the grill, I think it looks rather bulky from the front. Don't it?

No worries, they are temporary. EV's don't need grilles.

it really is unfortunate because this could be a great competitor to the golf r/s3/a35
My X2 m35i is maybe 2” taller than a Ford Focus ffs. This car is probably the same height as a focus and looks practically the same as the x2. Oh yeah, my x2 grill doesn’t look like ass either. Thankfully it escaped the Lexus grill craze.

No I'm with you, it looks like either Big Teeth, or like the car or SUV is screaming at you! Not a fan. Either with the solid vertical bars or the interrupted ones on the Ms.

Why would they put that car in the show when they forgot to finish the front of it.
