Just installed my winter wheels. The matte black works wonders with the Misano blue!

Learning how to drive the front based xDrive. Surprisingly playful by -9 Celcius degrees in the snow ! Drift happens! Very happy with this car.

Love this car!
I owned a 2014 M135i xDrive and that car, even though it had the N55 was such a spongy and soft car. The engine could not make up for the chassi. This F40 on the other hand is much sharper, stiffer, just a more capable car.

The car feels very neutral on dry surfaces. I was surprised how I was able to manage to drift it in the snow. In certains conditions I can feel it is front wheel drive but to me it doesn't affect the global driving experience.
How do you compare it VS the rear wheel drive essentially based M135i?

The N55 M135i xDrive felt less precise that the F40. I remember also feeling a lot more bodyroll. granted it did feel more rwd but with the added grip of xdrive, however the unprecise front end together with the bodyroll made the car feel less on it's toes that the F40. It felt sluggish and "tired". I sold that car after only 1 year of ownership. It really was a great dissapointment for me looking back.

At the end of the day, the F40 M135i is perfect for me, I don't give a rats ass that it's more fwd, I'm having way more fun than with the 2014 model.

Thinking about downsizing my summer wheels from 19 to the same 18 I have as winter setup, think they look amazing. What do you guys think about it?

I made the same choice - have both my summer and winter tires on two separate sets of 554M alloys - and am very happy with it.

I think they look very good on a car.

Couple of before and after pics to my other halfs new car.

BMW 118i M Sport
- Storm Bay Metallic
- DCT
- Pro Pack
- Larger fuel tank
- Panoramic roof
- Heated steering wheel
- Parking assist
- Black Dakota leather with Blue stitch
- Livecock pit and 10.25" infotainment with idrive 7 and personal assistant
- M Performance Front lip
- M Performance Side Skirts
- M Performance 555m 19" wheels with Continental tyres

Addition to this, we installed Eibach Pro kit lower springs and 10mm spacers front and rear for the look here. The car only has 13 miles on it before it was lowered and spacers installed!

The 554m are for sale with complete with Goodyear tyres, just 10 miles on them
