I’m fucking numb. My mom passed away Monday morning. I’m sad she’s gone but glad she’s gone. Dad passed last year and it was a shock, out of left field. We were “prepared” for mom but she struggled. The week before she died was hell. Just shoot me. I would much rather be devastated by a sudden death than to be prepared and watch a loved one suffer. What a fucked up two years! Rest in peace, mom. She’s with dad now and I do find comfort knowing that. Funeral is tomorrow.

My mom passed 5 years ago, young. I hear you: 1 month+ of ICU being "fed" by a tube and watching a loved one perish is no fun.

This shall pass. Be strong. I understand the feeling of "relief". My sister was inconsolable. I told her "she is resting now."
Something she hadn't been doing in a while.

Hope you have some more closure tomorrow. Take it all in. Grieve as needed.

Sorry for your loss. My mom died when I was 17. Hard to relate to how you must feel, but I hope you feel better soon. Sorry again.

Sorry to hear your lost! I recently lost my mother in June unexpectedly so I can really understand the pain and shock that this puts you thru..my condolences

So sorry to hear that - I watched my grandfather die slowly over several years, where he mentally did not know where he was 95% of the time or who was with him, but the odd time he did. He was a tough old scotsman, but I saw him cry a lot during those years when he had a moment of lucidity because he was so miserable. It was a relief in a way to see him go, but sad because I believe he was not saved.

The slow struggle is so hard on the caregivers, I hope you remember all the good times and are able to take a break after this.

My sincerest condolences. I lost my mom, dad and step-dad over a 2 year period. It is very tough to digest to say the least.
