My BMW 218i GC M Sport Order
Hi All! New to the forum
 I placed my order for my BMW 2 Series GC in September and at the time I was told that I would have the vehicle around late Feb/March due to the global microchip shortage which was understandable. I have now received an update from the dealership saying that the vehicle should be available for collection early January 2022. I just wanted to ask if anyone else who has placed an order recently has experienced something similar, and if I should be optimistic with being told the delivery will be a lot sooner than expected or is this something that may get put back to a later date again when the new year approaches? The spec I went for was: 218i M Sport Auto Melbourne Red 18" Orbit Grey V-spoke style 554 M alloy wheels M Sport Pro Pack Panoramic Sunroof Heated Steering Wheel Parking Assistant Thoughts everyone? Will post pics when it arrives  Previously owned a 2 Series Coupé but had to swap for something a little more family-friendly. |

That sounds positive! I ordered a 218i GC M Sport in July, have had dates for build in Nov, Dec, Jan 22 and now nothing. My BMW dealer said they're experiencing the most delays on the 2 Series, but no idea why.
I've just picked a 118i out of stock as my current finance deal is ending early '22, which I am happy with. Maybe next time for the 2GC... Fingers crossed for you to get your delivery soon. |

I did test drive the new 1series. Its the same underneath essentially just a different body shape to the 2 series GC but needed the extra boot space. I was impressed with it! Hope you enjoy yours!  Thank you I just hope i don't get a phone call closer to the date telling me its been put back  |

I went into the dealer on Saturday and drove the 118i, which I was really happy with. The hatchback is pretty practical, so maybe its for the best!
Just got a call to say I can pick it up on Wednesday, so really looking forward to it now. Time to clear all the junk out of my Audi… Good luck with the 2GC, let us know how it goes! |

Beautiful car, yeah I mean styling is subjective but I did not consider the gran coupe until I saw them in person, they are much better looking, even without the M sport package. That being said if the G20 3 series had a panoramic roof I might have gone for that, I know it’s got a bigger sunroof than previous generations but I’m a sucker for panos. Plus my 228I XD gran coupe with the stock 18 inch run flats has a much better ride then a 330 I, and it’s quieter.
