Important Info Regarding CIP 21 + MP3

This applys to only those cars built before September 2005.

Those of us that got our MP3 working with CIP 20 gets erased with CIP 21.
You all need to tell your Service tech u have MP3 before they install any updates?

CIP 21 did zip for my car should of stopped with CIP 19. Car was best then!

Why did you load 21 ?

You are only supposed to load new versions if you have a problem the new version fixes

Also, the word CIP doesnt apply anymore

They are now Progman 20, Progman 21

We also are getting bumped to the 21 version because of some emission correction that BMWNA sent out recently.

Dealer choice not mine.
My voice activation been acting up ever since I got CIP 20.
Plus my radio kept switching on me when I turn car off.
I always turn car off while playing my MP3's.
Next day get in car & car would switch to FM radio.
CIP 21 correct this but sure did not fix voice activation

Not @ my Dealer they call it CIP 21 it's on my invoice that way to.

Dealer couldn't upgrade to Progman 22. My car was one of the very first builds in South Africa. Now I had to make another appointment for them to sort out the MP3 functionality.

BTW, after first attempt at Progman 22, the car refused to start. It was with the dealer for 3 days, then they lied to me that it could play MP3's.

I should have just grabbed a few progman cd's lying on their supervisors desk

Yes, Progman 22 should be available in the US. The software is normally shipped to BMW ( in all countries ) from BMW AG at the same time.
