After market Corona Rings

Does anyone know if there are Aftermarket Corona Rings (Angel Eyes) for the 135? Im looking for white light ones, instead of the yellow that are standard.

quick question, is our angel eye system is unique in that we can just fit a bulb in there? do other angel eye designs actually install a physical halo-shaped LED array?

i ask because i really like the look of the new Audi DRL's where you can kind of see the individual LEDs. this product on eAs is the closest to that kind of look i could find, but it seems like a completely different design than other solutions I've seen sold specifically for 1-series

There are after market bulbs that will change your angel eyes to white instead of yellow. As far as an LED solution goes, there's nothing out for the 1 just yet. PM sent for more info.

Most of the after market fitments like the one dbchun found are designed for cars without the factory corona rings. I had Predator Chromiums on my E46, they had a similar look to the new LEDs you're describing. Plenty of members here are swapping the bulb for a more blue hue. You can also fit a single LED that will give you the same look. Do a search, there are plenty of posts that discuss this.

There was a post a week or two ago on here from an overseas company selling an LED upgrade for 1 series angel eyes. They were about $200 per set, but they were not like the Audi with a string of LED's, but rather used one or two very bright white LED's in place of the regular bulbs to light up the whole angel eye. They had pictures and they are very white, instead of the yellow we have now.

yeah i think i know what you're talking about, and it's the one that i'm leaning towards right now. it looks like the only option where the two halos are lit evenly. the unevenness of the GP thunder would drive me nuts i think haha

i've searched and read up on the various angel eye mods but was just wondering if these clip-on LED halo ring things were also an option. i guess it would be stupid to pursue this since our OEM halo rings look to be of much higher build quality than a plastic clip on

The factory headlights are sealed closed so you cannot open them but if you have factory xenons, we do offer xenon white bulb upgrades to change the color to a pure xenon white.

dbchun, I noticed you are local to us here in Santa Clara. Feel free to drop by our showroom on Scott and Central anytime

IMHO - There's nothing on the market at this time that is worth the upgrade - the weak output is based on the halo design, not bulb output. the inner beam is simply a half ring while the outer is fiber and has a longer travel path to illuminate fully.

We're looking into a solution of our own.

good to know! the LED bulb solution looks promising but I'm holding off on purchasing anything until I actually take delivery of my car

The Corona Rings (Angel Eyes) are unique to those you probably saw on the E46 vehicles. The E46 models used a completely new kit and was installed into the headlight and wired onto the car. The newer 3-series models like the E90, E92, E82, and E88, they just required bulbs to change the color of the angel eyes.

The E92 and E82 and E88 have headlights known as "LCI", where they use standard H8 halogen bulbs to light up all four rings. We offer the GP Thunder H8 bulbs in 3500K (yellow), 7500K (white with blue hue), and 8500K (more blue, light white hue), which work without errors for your 1-series. Here's a general idea of what the angel eyes will look like:
