Came across this car in Winter Park, Florida this evening. Can't say I've ever seen one before. Can anybody enlighten me please? I do know it's a BMW.

Beautiful... only ever seen a couple Z8's... watch the James Bond The World is not Enough.... features a tricked out silver one! Those go fo big bucks... love them. The Z1 is cool from that era with the sliding doors....

I was lucky enough to drive one a couple of years ago.
it was special to sit in. But too wide for UK road and only left hand drive.

I've seen 2 a very nice mint showroom condition one in a BMW showroom as part of a collection when I bought my Z4M and a very well used and tatty one on German plates outside a bar in southern Spain.
Not my cup of tea but nice all the same! |

I saw one of them in Switzerland once - 1971 (school trip). It was lovely close up, had a real presence. Took me years to find out it was a 507 and IIRC, the one I saw wasn't a convertible. I know I have a photograph of it but after all these years, who knows where it is

A lovely car and featured in the World is not enough (well a shell did) I spotted one last summer at the Peterborough services on the A1 of all places.
Stunning car and very expensive, Hexagon bought many and cornered the market in the UK for a while. Has the 5.0V8 from the e39 M5 in it IIRC.

One of my favourite BMWs especially the Alpina version.
I was lucky enough to drive one years ago when I was a service advisor but was too scared to really drive it hard as I didn't want to be known as the one who crashed the Z8! |

Just that really. it's a bit of a fatty and being left hand drive made it feel even more so.
