Updating maps motion in LCI 2010 E90
Hey guys,
Recently bought an E90 LCI and found out that it has a business edition idrive. It seems like the only thing I can update is the maps. If I go into the settings of navigation, it says that I have 2010 motion maps. I have found 2018 motion maps b̶u̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶m̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶8̶g̶b̶ ̶l̶i̶m̶i̶t̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶P̶r̶e̶ ̶M̶a̶r̶c̶h̶-̶2̶0̶1̶0̶ ̶E̶9̶0̶s̶. The production date of my car is June 2010 so I may have a bigger hdd? I don't want the currents maps to also get corrupted because of a half completed update. How can I confirm the size of the hdd that I have? Should I go ahead with the 2018 maps update? Can someone guide me where to find the correct version of maps, I can use for Europe West Motion maps? Cheers Last edited by shad0wboss; 11-19-2018 at 03:15 PM.. |

Yes because you probably have a professional navigation and I have business navigation. No one is willing to provide the fsc code for business navi and the guy who was selling the code, ran away as well (most likely fake). So now I am stuck here. Wish BMW didn’t differentiate between business and professional system...

I’ve just been through this myself. I have a 2010 320i LCI e90 with the Business Navigation (smaller screen than the Professional Navigation, but still a CIC system) I had no success in extracting the 1b file, even though this is a CIC iDrive system. However, I bit the bullet and purchased a lifetime FSC code and MOTION maps from an ebay seller. Worked a treat, now cruising around with the latest maps! |

There is a big thread on extracting the 1b file via Ethernet here that goes into far more detail.
Using a small hub is also documented. I originally use that thread to grab my 1b file long before the scripted method became available. |
