after seeing that they're a different group, I gave them a try per your recommendation. I'm impressed, and for the price, I'm happy with it. no damage/scratches. I like the results.
Right on. I'm definitely spreading the word; it's the only true hand wash I've found in the area so I'm hoping they stick around.

They're pretty responsive too. Last time I asked the guy at the counter (Sam?) not to armor-all the interior, and they also brought out an air hose at the end while I was inspecting to get water out of the crevices.

Are you in Annandale? I've been seeing a White M3 and SO M4 recently in the area.

I actually live in DC but am out in and around Annandale or Alexandria pretty frequently on the weekends. Mine's black on black, and still plate-less for now...

Getting the salt from the past few days off the car at the hand wash in Alexandria.

There was a nice looking E92 M3 in front of me. Sometimes seeing that CF roof against the white makes me wish I'd gotten an MW or SO exterior...

Nice, great find and thanks for sharing. After going there a few times, any indications of swirls in the paint? Do they hand wash and hand dry?

There is a touch-less and rail-less wash at the Sunco gas station in South Riding. It does the job for when you just want to quickly get the salt off your car. Plus you get 20 cents off per gallon if you buy the $8 wash.

No swirling issues so far. Last weekend I was just in for a hand wash; actually asked for a mini detail but the manager suggested I just do a hand wash since it had only been a few weeks since the last mini detail.

They hand soaped, pressure hose off (didn't look too aggressive a high pressure), and hand dried. My hood has a clear bra on it but the next time I take it in for a quick detail I'll take a closer look, take some pics in the sun. I wasn't looking through the little window last mini detail, so I haven't seen how they do it or what products they use.

If you can get on base, Henderson Hall (aka Fort Meyer) has a cheap DIY Spray wash with 3 bays.

I did not not know this. Is it normally busy?

Anyone know of a good coin operated self service car wash in the NOVA area?

Hand wash only

I use Odds and Ends Detailing. Darryl uses either a two bucket method, waterless, or rinseless depending on the weather. I never put any of my vehicles in a car wash. It leaves you with micro-maring that will need to be polished out. If you're serious about your paint finish, DO NOT put your car through any car wash. These brushless washes have cloth's that wash hundreds of cars every day. Some of that dirt remains on the cloths. Now, these cloths act like sand paper on your car.
