2020 Gran Coupe Ordering

Anyone place an order yet for the Gran Coupe? Seems like first wave of them are in transit to dealers. Wondering if the lease rates for this model will be any better that the coupe.

At least for Canada, interest is higher by 2% (1.99 vs. 3.99) on the 2er GC but residuals are higher.

For a 228i Gran Coupe with average selling price around $52k CAD (no discounts/incentives) you are looking at around mid-$600's/month CAD on a 48 mo. lease.

For a M235i Gran Coupe with the average selling price of $63k CAD (no discounts/incentives) you are looking at low-$1,000's/month CAD on a 48 mo. lease.

Yes orders can be placed now for the GC. The rebates are less for the GC but the residuals are 6-8% higher for the GC depending on which 2 Series you're comparing it to. Not sure if that will hold true over time.

Delivery Timeline

I've recently ordered a 218i M-sport GC with a few different options and the initial delivery time was the end of April but this have moved to the end of May and could be even later. Is this normal?

This is the first brand new BM I've purchased and I'm excited to get behind the wheel but 3 months from order to delivery seems crazy!

Any tips or help?

I ordered a 218i M Sport Auto GC on the 8th of Jan and I got an email saying it was finished being built today. Its due to be delivered to the dealership the week beginning the 23rd of March.

So your timelines look about right in comparison.

Thanks, it makes sense why but I'm just impatient maybe. I'm looking forward to seeing any posts when you get the car 👍🏻

Yes, don't leave off the "W" when referencing the brand. The first two letters alone have a completely different meaning, at least over here, relating to a bodily function!

I ordered a fully specced M235i xDrive GC last year, mid-December. I got my order confirmation after the holidays around Jan 9th 2020. The first e-mail about the production start & the VIN having been stamped to the frame came last Friday on the 28th of February... I'm now waiting for an e-mail about the production being finished, interesting to hear that some of you from the same production cycle have already received that email... Maybe the M235i production takes a little longer?

Delivery here to Finland can take up to 4 weeks according to the dealer.

Left the factory

I got an email on Saturday (the 7th) saying the car has left the factory, hopefully will be a speedy trip over the pond!

Since the BMW site (UK) has been updated the live chat seems to have been removed from the build pages, so not been able to get any further details, anyone found any other way to message BMW for an order update?

I have been stuck on order status 5055 since Last sunday , IT IS SOO FRUSTRATING!! I literally check everyday . But to answer your question. If you have your order number or chassis number then you can call BMW directly and ask for the order status. Their number is 08003256000

on a related note, as anyone heard of any production delays yet related to the virus situation? have an m235i GC on order and it's slated for production but worried it may get delayed with everything going on right now.

Mine went to 9650 - Awaiting Dispatch to Dealer, today... hopfully not long to wait now!
... seems right on track with what the dealer said, so don't think its caused delays yet, but if Europe carries on going into lockdown I guess it might at some point, hopefully, yours will sneak through!

yeah I hope so too. where do you all get these numbers which tells you the status? I can login to the BMW website and access the tracking page and it shows a general timeline, but that's all I see.
