Any former F10 M5 owners miss the seats?
As the title states. Any former F10 M5 owners miss the seats? I guess my only complaint with the f90 is that the seats are so damn uncomfortable compared to the F10 m5. Sitting in the F10 M5 seats felt like you were sitting in a soft and plush executive recliner chair. I just purchased a couple of neck pillows for long road trips as the headrest on the f90s provide no support at all.
One last gripe is the HK sound system is absolutely horrendous. Going to swap it out with the Bavarian sound PNP upgrade very soon. Came from f10's B&O system which sounded light years better than this HK crap that they threw into this car. Other than that, I am completely in love with this car. Everyone will have certain gripes about a car but this is an absolute upgrade over the f10 m5. Sometimes I do miss the DCT but driving around town in the f90 is so much more better. |

I did not try the seats in the F10 M5, but those in the F90 are absolutely perfect.
May I ask you how tall are you ? I'm 6"2 and well over 200lbs and those are probably the best seats I had together with those in my previous F85. |

I'm 5'10" and 175. Maybe I'm too short to where the back of my head doesn't hit the headrest all the way! Yeah, if you ever get the opportunity, sit in an F10's seat.. you will feel the difference..

I’m 5’10” also and much prefer my F90 seats over my old F10 seats. Appreciate the adjustable side bolstering that was absent from my early F10 and massage seats that do more than just fist you.

I like the F90 seats much better than my old F10 seats. To OP, the F90 seats are much more adjustable, are you sure you have tried all the ways to configure them?

I agree that the f10 seats are softer but that tends to make my back hurt on long drives. I think the f90 seat are more supportive and on long drives it doesn’t hurt my back as much.

Not certain, but not sure ive ever heard anyone complain about the F90 seats. Theyre consistently praised as some of the best sports/luxury seats out there. With the exception of the shitty ventilated option. My F10 seats weren't bad, but def not as good as the F90, and the F90 is way better massage than the F10. The head rests aren't technically meant to "rest" your head on. It's short for head restraint. From keeping your neck from snapping in a collision. I take a lot of long drives, and cant remember the last time I actually rested my head on the head rest of any car while driving. I dont have the HK system in my F90, I have the BW in my F90, and had BO in my f10, the f10 was good. But I believe the BW is better than the BO. The HK is terrible for f10 and f90. The DCT was good/fine, I didn't mind it, but the ZF is much better for everyday drivability. Not too many ways the F10 is superior or even on par with the F90 in my opinion. |

Haven’t sat in the F90 for an extended period of time but my F10 seats are extremely comfortable. At 6’4” and 230 lbs, I enjoy short and long drives in the F10. Never arrive with sore legs or tight back.

Not saying that it might be different for some and highly subjective matter but this is the first time someone complained about the seats in F90. HK is not the best. B&W is much better in every way. Massage option is just a gimmick but better to have it rather than not. I know many liked DCT more than ZF but was about mythic „feel” rather than performance itself. F10 was the only BMW that would loose most comparisons against Audi A6 back than and for that reason alone I skipped that generation. I drove one on two maybe three occasions and wasnt impressed. N55 and N63 engines don’t have the best track record if it comes to reliability either. There isn’t a single engine that’s quite safe bet in that generation. Maybe apart from rarely available diesel option. To each its own but that’s my take on F10 5 series that’s irrelevant in grand scheme of things.

I never notice things like this. My wife beats on an F30 for work and when I sit in that it feels smaller but perfectly fine. I can sit in a piece of junk and never notice these things. The seats in the F90 are not noticeable either way for me. I don't remember the F10 seats being different at all. the only thing i feel like is the blind spot near the side views stinks in the F90.

I have both cars currently. the f90 seats are way better imo. I swap which m5 i drive every week so I get alot of back to back comparison time. Im 6'4 for reference.
And not to mention the fact that my f90 seats are massaging, heated, and cooled. My f10s are not, but maybe other f10s have some of those features. Plus the light up M5 badges look badass.

My f10 had massage and ventilated seats. Not sure what package it was part of... The venting and massage is better on the f90 vs f10. That said you can find plenty of threads that talk about the f90 vent/massage features not being great, and nearly useless. it was even worse in my f10. My G63 massage is much better, and venting is maybe a fraction better than the f90. But my old escalade had much better ventilation. |
