How long from placing order to delivery?

For those who have purchased the 2 series Gran Coupe, how long did it take from placing your order until you received the vehicle? Thanks.

Do you happen to know how long the factory was closed?

Mine was ordered 3/4. Had prod number a couple days later. Was in scheduled for prod by 3/15. Around 3/20 factory shutdown. Reopened end of May. Last week, my car started production. Is in QC now. Hoping by end of week at port to head to the states. Delivery will be mid to end of July.

General rule is 8 weeks from start of production to delivery if on east coast of U.S... if in Europe, cannot help.

I completed my purchase last Tuesday, 6/16. My dealer provided me with a build number the next day and it was already at the Production Begins status with a VIN assigned. When I call the 800 number, it says the build is supposed to finish July 2. It's a week later and status is still the same.

The build itself only takes a day. After build it will go to quality check. Then it waits for shipping orders. Then off to port, waits there for whatever ship it will be on.

The website has a couple day delay.

My vehicle showed at port on the 20th, when I had confirmation it had left on the 18th on the Toreador. I'm now tracking the ship itself, and she is enroute to Sweden from the U.K. couple days there, then off to Canada, before it hits NJ on the 9th. Hoping for 1 week there, and then to me in MA. I jokingly say my car is on an Atlantic cruise vacation.

Hi,

My car is on the Toreador too! Annoying it is going back to Sweden from the UK!

Thanks

Ordered mine (in the UK) on the 10th March, not even gone into production yet. Dealer says they are expecting it to be delivered some time in August, I probably won't see it until September.

That's crazy. We were getting ready to submit our order on a 2020 and the dealer came back to us and said that they're not taking anymore builds for 20s and that it would have to be a 2021. You'd think if you ordered it back in March, you'd get your car before people ordering after you. Wondering if they're trying to get the 21s out on the lots.

When will you be able to configure a 2021?

Apparently now. I wasn't able to order a 2020 two weeks ago. After we negotiated a price for a 2020 and were ready to place the order, the dealer called back and told me they stopped building 2020s and that we'd have to order a 2021. Instead of being able to add the virtual cockpit alone, we had to add the premium package.

What changes does version 2021 have? from what date do they deliver the 2021 versions?

From the 2021 ordering guide posted in this forum there are only minor changes. It appears that the start of production for the 2021 model is July 2020.

Sorry. Should have been more specific. We built out the 2020 through the website. After the dealer told us that it would have to be a 2021, they submitted the build for us using the configs we chose for the 2020.

So my car was in the Production Begins stage until yesterday which was the estimated completion date. It went through all of the assembly and QC stages yesterday. Today it's at Awaiting Carrier Assignment. It's been less than 3 weeks since the order was placed so not looking bad so far.

Has anyone ordered a 2 series Gran Coupe since the factory reopened? If so, have you received the vehicle?

I ordered during the shutdown on April 30th, and was assigned a 1st week of June build, so no impact from the shutdown as that is slightly less than we had to wait for a build slot for my wife's X1 that we ordered in December.

I have not received the vehicle yet, but I would have been expecting it this week or next week had we not had a second round of COVID lockdowns. Transport of vehicles to Australia takes a long time Was loaded onto the boat on the 18th of June, and arrived here on the 10th of August.

Ordered mine (in the UK) in March, I’m picking it up in two days. My dealer is saying that they telling customers that orders taken this month are for February delivery.
