BM3 stage 2 Target boost hit 28psi

I did some data logging with BM3 stage 2 911 AGG and saw that my Target Boost Psi hit 28. I remember reading somewhere that stage 2 is targeted 23 psi because going over is 24 if not good for an N26. Here is a link for my datalog.

Assuming this is just a cruising log, because I couldn't find a WOT anywhere in there. Typically with logging, the shorter the better to make it easier for us to read. A 9 second WOT 2nd gear pull is ideal, unless you want a cruising log, like this, in which case I'd limit it to 15 seconds.

ANYWAY, the reason you're seeing 28psi as your target is because you have pressure set to absolute instead of relative in your datalog settings. Absolute pressure combines both ambient pressure and boost pressure, so 28 psi make perfect sense in the application of this log. To change it, simply go to datalogs, click the gear icon in the top right, and change pressure to relative, it will be one of the first options on the list

No problem, I got a little worried when the same thing happened to me lol.

MAF lb/m should be around 25-30 at WOT. Try doing a log how I said in my last post and see what it's at.

I did some more logging for Stage 2 91 AGG my car hit 20.12 PSI boost and my MAF lb/m is 31. Isn't the target boost for Stage 2 is 22psi or is that for 93 octane?

Just from my experience, that's how I get the cleanest and easiest to read logs. That's just how I like to do it

Yah maybe 22psi is for 93, 20.12 for 91. I never really knew what the distinction was but maybe that's it. Also, look at MAP psi to see what psi you're actually hitting, the target is just that, a target. That log looks good expect for your timing being way outta whack. They should ideally be all the same number and slope up towards redline. Not sure what the problem may be there... but sometimes I've run logs that had timing like that, ran another and it was fine...

I think because I need to change my Spark Plugs. I believe they are factory with 35k on it already.

If you can get that tool made, you could knock it out yourself, alongside the plugs. Both easy installs IMO.

You will get a higher peak boost the higher the gear. If you’re logging peak, you should do at least 4th gear.

I will try this over the weekend. Just got new CP, DV + and MPE Exhaust installed. I wonder it it will make any different in peak boost.

It won't, it's all in the tune. BM3 doesn't do boost by gear either, so you should be seeing the same peak boost in every gear.

It’s not really a boost by gear thing. Just kind of the way wastegates work. Since there is a larger load placed on the turbo in higher gears, boost tends to spike a bit more there. Which is why they dyno tune in the 1:1 gear usually 4th or 5th gear.

It’s not normally a lot. But you might see an extra psi of boost.
