Aluminium vs Stainless Steel Pedals
Hi,
My car is almost to be delivered and I am already thinking of a couple of additional accessories. One of them is the pedal set. While looking at the list of accessories in www.bmw.de, I noticed there are two pedal sets: one in aluminium (85€) and one in stainless steeel (110€). My car will have the M-Sport pack, and hence will also have the metallic footrest. I didn't managed to see any pics of the stainless steel pedal set. Which one do you think is better and will look better with the M foot rest? Thanks, rics |

Hi rics,
congrats to your car, nice choice.  I think the aluminium pedals might look better with the M-footrest, it looks like its aluminium, too. See attached pic. In my e46 its made of stainless steel though. Hope this helped. BTW: where are you in Europe? |

Hi Dante,
Thank you. You're right, the M-Sport one looks being made of aluminium. Probably will complement it with the alum pedal set. At the moment I'm in The Netherlands. But I come from Portugal. |

What would give you better performance??? Becoming a better driver... Improving your shifting technique... I prefer the rubber pedals. I like the looks of the aluminum... but not enough for me to spend my hard earned money on them... |

The stainless is better for eating off of. Aluminum has shown to cauze Alzheimer-like symptoms in rats so if your gonna lick your trim, go stainless!

It's possible to lose power by attaching the pedals on. By using the wrong hardware or just incorrectly, the accelerator might be stopped by the nuts and bolts behing the pedals and preventing the accelerator to attain full throttle. Watch out for improper applications guys.
