Rick, your angel eyes appear quite bright. Can you see them during the day when used as DRLs?

Dammmittt, you really could use some posting etiquette. You basically contributed nothing to this thread other than upping your postwhore count and making light (pun intended) of an issue that is important to some here. If a search turned up my issue, then I would not have posted this thread.

The dealer is the last place I want to take my car. The dealer told me that I couldnt even have the Angel Eyes programmed as DRLs.... that tells you how much faith I have in the dealer. I had to keep telling them it could be done. The DRLs in my old Z4 were quite functional and bright enough for others to see. From a safety standpoint, the angel eyes as DRLs are mediocre in the newer Zs if they are too dim to see....

I took the pics in my garage, where it's darker, so that's why it appears brighter. They're not that easy to notice unless you're looking at them head-on. But I'm glad I got them activated. Aside from the "safety" standpoint, the DRLs make my car more unique in a country where DRLs aren't mandatory.

BTW, did you buy your Zed @ BMW Seattle? 'Cause both the loser salesrep and a service rep told me that it DRLs couldn't be programmed... until I brought in the email that BMWUSA sent me that said it could be done.

Mine are bright in a dark setting as well...but cant really be seen as intended when used as DRLs. I bought mine from BMW Bellevue. My Service Rep. knew it could be done, but trying to convince the sales rep that it could was frustrating.

I also had to convince him that clownnose light AND amber lamp flash to signal car is locked is possible without the installed alarm system...but that is for another post.

I tried to get the programming done during PDI so that there wouldn't be any time wasted, and tried again for my 1200mi service. Both times they told me programming wasn't available for my model year. If it weren't for the help I reveived from the forums and from BMWNA, I probably wouldn't have DRLs on today.

As for the latter 2 features you mentioned, I had those as standard when I picked up the car.

Used to like Seattle BMW but I've lost faith in them. They repeatedly told me that any interior rattle noise would only be covered within the first 1200 miles and they would not fix any rattle under warranty after that. I talked to other dealers and BMWNA and they all said rattles would be covered under the regular 4-year 50K mile warranty. Now I'm back to taking my car to Bellevue BMW for service. I tried a couple of service reps before and they were terrible. Now my service rep is Ryan and he's REALLY GOOD.

That's crazy man. My dealer said they'd program the DRLs for me but would charge $45 in labor since I didn't get the car from them. I'll have to do it before I leave her since it seems BMW dealers can be sketchy at best.

I think that is just how the Z4 halos are. I dont see a solution to the problem until someone finds out how it is lit. An easy solution would be to silicone CCFL rings onto the existing halos but that would require baking and would look ugly up close.
