Went to visit Terry last night to get the upgrade. Great guy. Really helpful answered all my questions and concerns. Would recommend him to anyone. The 2.0 itself is amazing. Smooth is best word to define it. Instant throttle response. You can feel the power all way through the rpm band. In my opinion its the single best mod you can make to this car. Can't wait for my TBE and Map 5

Its just a software update to update this when the final version comes out. Many people are running this tune and its just getting better and better. No need to wait for the final version IMO.

Just get it now

and order the USB cable so that when its finalized it will be a simple laptop flash. 2.0 is very stable right now and IMO you shouldn't wait as you are depriving yourself of all the fun.

I don't understand why people wait for the final. By the time "final" comes out, T will have moved onto 2.1 or whatever new version and 2.0 will be archaic. 2.0 beta 2/17 build is stable as a rock and I'm pushing the envelope.

I took the cheap way out, I added a capacitor to my G1 JB3 board (http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4952) to make it a G2, burned a new chip with 2.0 and made the swap.

If you want to be able to tweak the various tuning parameters, you'll need to upgrade to a G3 board via BMS, and order the interface cable so you can hook it up to a laptop.

I want 2.0 but I'm going to hang out for the official release final version... hopefully it's not too far away. The wait really is killing me.

So what exactly has to be done to upgrade from 1.4?

Keeping in mind I'm from Australia and don't have a chip burner...

If you have a Gen-3 JB3 board then all you need is the upgrade chip (20.00) and the USB Cable (35.00)

If you have a Gen-2 JB3 board and don't care about laptop connectivity or data logging then all you need is the upgrade chip

If you have a Gen-2/Gen-1 JB3 board and want laptop connectivity then you need the Gen-3 board upgrade (65.00) and the USB Cable. The Gen-3 board upgrade comes with the 2.0 chip

Open your JB3 box and compare it to this picture, and that will tell you for sure.
