Such stylish cars. I'd happily settle for the 2L version if I was in the market for a saloon

They were once upon a time - I remember lovely analogue dials with orange backlight

Exactly, they were. It's the bloody 'C' shaped stuff we have today with loads of crap in the middle I detest, looks like they let a 12 year old star wars fan design it. Anyway at least I can turn 90% of mine off.

Yep, it's cr*p. I've got Audi's 'virtual cockpit' in my car, another fine axample of form over function. It's not as bad as BMWs recent designs but still inelegant and fussy. My Mazda dash was so much simpler - and better. Saab used to know how to design a dash.

I liked my Audi VC. Dont get me wrong, the original dials of my E30 were preferable to anything but given there is so much more info to convey these days I thought Audi did a decent job.

At least my M5 had the round dials that both went the same way. The dash in latest BMW is one reason I dont own one...

I'm being harsh, the Audi VC isn't that bad really, especially in large 'classic' mode with its circular dials for speedo and rev counter, which is where I keep it all the time - feels like I'm driving a car then 😊

And look, a 'sync' button on the climate control.
Who knew such a thing was even possible, Herr BMW.

I know it's a first world problem; it's just I normally drive alone and my OCD won't allow for one side of the climate showing a different temperature to the other side

I hate that too!
Also in a space that small there is absolutely no advantage in having either side at a different temperature. All it will do is 'fight itself'. especially if the a/c is on.

It's encouraging that it isn't just me - I was beginning to worry about myself

Having just read the below article raving about the new revised version I want one even more. Seems all the improvements are very positive. Money no object I'd definitely have one of these in the stable.

Great looking cars shame they didn't make a m340i/s4/c43 version of the v6. I know the 276bhp has more power than a 330i and lighter I think but I think it would have done well.

The Giulia QF is one of those cars that everyone loves yet hardly anyone bought, I know there are many cars that could fall into that category but generally that's to do with the size of the market place for an expensive supercar as an example.

But here was a car lauded by the press and forum posters yet it failed to sell in meaningful numbers compared to its rivals M3/C63/RS4 etc... over 8 years they managed to shift around 1250 units vs the M3 sales of over 5000 units (M4 sales of around 10000 units).

I've often wondered why performance car buyers shunned the QF especially BMW M car buyers/owners as it should appeal and going on the posts on threads like this it did/does appeal.

I've come to the conclusion that it was the car of choice for the guy who wasn't going to be buying a new performance car rather than one who was.

Probably because at the same price point/ performance levels a German car is a much safer bet. Much less likely to have faults on a regular basis and be easier to live with.
Alfa's reputation will be hard to shake off, especially when you see some of the long term reviews from the press.
