Rear DRLs

Hey guys.
Is anyone able to turn OFF the rear DRLs while keeping the front ones ON.
Cants seem to figure it out.
Thanks

Why would you want to reduce visibility by turning them off?

I don't remember any of the previous models having rear DRLs 24/7.
The front halos were always on and the rear would come on when turning on headlights or parking lights.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing in the lighting settings being able to select on or off for the rear on mine, I'll check later. If I can I'd assume the ability is region dependent for whatever the laws are where you live, so again I'd assume if I can it could be coded if you don't have the option. I've no experience with coding though, I'm sure someone who knows more can chime in.

Thanks. In the past, it had to be coded to Add the rear DRLs along with the front ones.
I guess now have to look to Delete rear DRLs...lol

You can try coding it. Below are the parameters and you should be able to use Bimmercode in Expert Mode since HU ECU is supported. For what it's worth, below definitely allows me to independently control front and rear DRLs on my 11/2019.40 Canadian market vehicle.

HU_MGU/00003E52 ECU

DAYDRIVING_LIGHT
- front DRL checkbox available = standard [02]
- default in Canada (name doesn't make sense since it results in always on) = perm_off [00]

DAYDRIVING_LIGHT_REAR
- rear DRL checkbox available = aktiv [01]
- default in 03/2019.45 in Canada = nicht_aktiv [00]
- default in 11/2019.40 in Canada = aktiv [01]

Lexx are you able to just turn your rear ones off without coding? It looks like I can, I'm in Canada as well.

Yes, in Canada, after rear DRL functionality was added either on 07/2019 or 11/2019 software, we (including me) can chose to turn rear DRL on or off at will. Coding above should/may allow that in US. Coding above also now allows front DRL to be switched on and off at will, which is not stock (and not entirely legal everywhere) in Canada.
