I would sacrifice comfort any day for better handling hands down.

It's called "sports" suspension and "sport" seats for a reason.
You give up cush for handling. You give up some comfort (although I disagree) to have your butt held in the seat while driving. That being said. Try an e36 M3 with Bilstein Sports, 18" wheels, urethane bushings everywhere and then complain about a stock e90 sport. The e90 is soft compared to a "real" sport oriented car like an M. I say real, because I've owned a euro 5 with M suspension, e30 M3 with sport suspension, and an e36 with sport suspension. The e90, even with a sport package is still soft. |

Years ago, Saab ran an ad that said: "We don't build compromises". Baloney.
Engineering is about making the right compromises given the objective. In our case, the objective is a great sports sedan. That means a rougher ride, seats that hold you in, lower ride height, feeling what happens when the rubber hits the road, hearing the engine and the list goes on. You can't have a great handling sports sedan that is as comfortable as cars designed for comfort over athletic abilities. |

Is the sedan and coupe the same height?
My coupe seemed lower but im sure its just in my head. Maybe the OP needs to use someone elses car to take his weak core friends to Bojangles. |

An eight hour road trip in my wife's IS250 was much more comfortable compared to my 330i sport. I had minor back pain from the seats and I'm not a big person either. I still wouldn't want to drive the Lexus as a daily driver though. Its a big giant snoozzzZZzze and I never had any issues other than the long drive.

My entrys aren't too bad. It's my exits that usually suck. If I sit too long, the ol' knees stiffen up a bit and then I find that I have to grab the 'Jesus handle' and swing both legs out onto the ground. Not cool.

A previous poster said that entering and exiting the vehicle is the problem. That's correct right?
If so, an option is to set your memory 2 button to a setting that has the seat all of the way back, and then set memory 1 to your usual setting. Just be sure to press 2 when you get out and press 1 when you get in. |

Those complaining ppl are not meant for sport suspension or a sports car, to be more precise !
one of my colleagues has got e90 335 with sports suspension and complains that the ride is harsh for long drives... he whines when he has to replace tires quickly....i just told him..dude you should buy a Camry or Accord. |

You could always get hydraulics
Seriously, though, yes the car is a bit low, I don't find the bolsters to be an issue for getting in and out, but a little more agility is definitely required compared with your typical sedan. Never found it a big deal, personally. |

Anyway.. to the point in hand - There are cars out there for every walk of life, BMW choose to make their cars more sporty, this in conjunction with the rear wheel drive system makes a 3-Series one of the best driving cars on the road. Sportyness has always meant a rougher ride, hunkered down and close to the road, close to the action. When have you ever seen a comfortable sports car? It just never happens. |

Thanks for the comments guys - I am glad I am not alone in this, ha.
I really do enjoy the handling and driving prowess of having the sport setup, no doubt. And the seats are great when you are in them. I had a Mk6 GTI too, and same issue there. When I had an S55 AMG - that was really easy to enter and exit, but it's also a huge car. |
