09+ DCAN Cable ?

I was wondering is there something that changed in 2009 that requires a different dcan cable? I have one that I use with my E46 M3, but does not work with my 2011 328xi. I noticed on ebay that many of the cables say 1998-2008

Did something change in 2009 ? And would any one be able to redirect me to a cheap cable that I could buy ?

Thanks!

Yes. On late E9x's (2009 onwards), Pin-8 is used for Ethernet activation on the CIC and a second K-Line on this pin causes a COAPI error.

If you are looking for a decent cable by from doitauto.de or onestopelectronics.com.

I believe they have pin 7 and 8 separate (not bridged) and come with a small adapter so it can be used on cars before 03/2007.
