My commute used to be about 20-25 minutes depending on traffic.

As of today it's 90 seconds on foot (I don't work from home either).

2 miles....10 minute bus ride. No car needed for commute when living and working in downtown SF.

Back in the days, it was a 30 mile, 30 minute drive to work at 5:30 am for market hours.

I've lived in Tampa, Orlando, South Florida, and Jersey and the traffic is pretty bad in all of them.. I went to SoCal last year & that may be the worst traffic I've ever seen!

I used to commute 7 miles each way for work, but I was going to and from Santa Monica, WITH TRAFFIC. 7 miles on the 10 freeway with traffic took 45 minutes...it was ridiculous. With no traffic, it took me 12 minutes to go from door to door.

The West LA area where the 10 & 405 meet and where the 405 & 101 meet are so f'ing terrible during rush hour.

I go from the Maryland suburbs to DC. It's about 12 miles, as the crow flies. Driving, it's about 14 miles one route, 20 miles another. It takes me about 50 minutes, on the average. If it's raining or the sun is bright, it takes an hour. If it's cloudy, 40-45 minutes. (This is legit. My wife told me about this local phenomenon, and I didn't believe her, until I started paying attention to the weather and my commute times.) If it's snowing, 2 hours. If it's summer time, 30-35 minutes.

4 days a week it takes me a short skip down the hall to my home office.
On days I have to go in, 20 minutes without traffic, 45 minutes with traffic.

Mine sucks... it's only 8 minutes. I wish I could spend a bit more time in my car.
