OMFG!!! Totaled or not? Value? People can't drive!!!
So this happened last night....WTF!!!
After I spent the course of 2 days doing my VCG, ESS Gasket, VTM Gasket, months after doing my Waterpump/Thermostat, and getting the remus quad exhaust installed. Not to mention LCI carbon trunk and light conversion. Is it totaled? Will my exhaust be compensated? How about taillights? Rear quarter, rear bumper, battery compartment got pushed in a little, trunks got pushed a little to driver side, inner taillight clip broke, outer taillight obviously... SUCKS!!! At a stop light. no cars moving, all stopped. I get plowed by someone obviously not paying attention. UPDATE: 1/24/17: They declared it a TOTAL LOSS Last edited by bsmoov; 01-24-2017 at 07:25 PM.. |

Sorry will probably not get totaled.....had someone with a very similar accident but he received a lot of money way more than the actual repair.

P.S. If damage wasn't as extensive - I would have just fixed it in some cheap indy shop and call it a day, not even declared it to insurance, but in this case it's a hard call. It's definitely possible to fix it for cheap if you are willing to put up with that, but it's too late now - your insurance will have to decide now Last edited by n55jb4; 01-12-2017 at 12:49 PM.. |

If it was a BASE and Automatic Transmission, that 5-6 k sounds fair. I didn't mention anything about my mods making my car worth more LOL, where did I say that? Obviously aftermarket parts drag the price down in many cases. My thing is, its a SPORT, NAVI, and 6 MT. Please let me know where I can find another 10 year old e90 with those features for that price. Thanks!!! |

Only difference is that it's an auto. Manuals have no value on a 10 year car with 140k miles. Probably a decrease in value. A car that old isn't bought by enthusiasts, it's bought by people needing cheap transportation. Not everyone can drive a manual. |

I know what youre saying. Market value is a little different tho. I sold my e91 6MT for 10,000. 2006 pre LCI. Base. i got a million inquiries offering kbb or lower than kbb. They all used kbb as their reference instead of market value. Those idiots trying to lowball me for my e91 got ignored... |

No reason to be upset. Look at it as a perfect opportunity to get more stuff done to the car if it's so unique to you.
Let them total it. Buy it back. Repair for 2k_ish. Pocket the rest. Live a happy life. I'd suggest getting an independent appraisal done to get the correct enthusiast market value. |

Yes, it would get a Salvage Title but you can buy it back, make repairs and mods then drive it till it dies. Or you can take the settlement, try to negotiate a higher payout by showing receipts for work and move on. The car has lost a lot of it's value and that's simple economics.

So sorry for your loss....I'm thinking write-off.
Do as others said....negotiate a decent settlement and buy car back....if you have receipts of recent repairs/parts....get them all collected for their low-ball. |
