The exterior looks exactly the same to me, how can you tell the difference when they are installed on the car?
The details, the clear, looking at pics they'll look the same

I have aftermarkets on my e90 and there's a difference

Dont get me wrong, aftermarkets are great alternatives

I guess I should've made it more clear that I was saying looking at the aftermarket ones from a distance, even standing two feet away, may not result in any difference from the OEM ones. Obviously OEMs are better if you decide to go with them.

Neither require you to disassemble. OEM are easy to steal too.

Actually not correct. The OEM M Performance caps are held in by three screws. They require you to take the mirror apart.

The fake ones clip in. The OEM screw in. There is only one part number.

Are these the aftermarket caps??

Easy to install? Any tools needed?

They look great by the way.

The dealer charged we 1/2 hour labor to install my M Performance caps. They do look great when they are on. If you are a BMWCCA member the dealer will discount their labor.

The stock covers are actually much lighter colored than the wheels. I think they look cheesey. I'm glad I replaced them.

Its lighter cuz its in direct sunlight...it matches indoors

I think only dark or white color cars can pull off with the silver/grey mirrors. I saw a EB indoor and the mirror does look cheesy
