Just to be aware. A couple of us have had the PCD canceled for this week due to a stop sale put on the X5. Its related to a front lower seat belt issue that effects X5/6 built 4/5-20.

They offered either to still attend the PCD but NOT take car delivery - need to find another way home. Or cancel and try to reschedule once the car is fixed and the stop sale is released. No timeline on that provided at all. I had PCD scheduled for 5/10 and heard about this yesterday 5/7. Major bummer.

I hadn't heard about this. What happened to the deal at the Marriott? That was the classic part of the PCD experience. So you have to get your own hotel, get their on your own and then get yourself to the PC?

There's some good info on this earlier in this thread. Happy to send you the updated PCD communication PDF, if you'd like. I'm headed down at the end of the month.

I think maybe I read it somewhere? A bunch of corporate speak like removing the free Marriott "allows customers to customize their experience"? But sure, I'd love to see it. How far out from your build week did they schedule your PCD?

It's generally quoted to be done by around 3. My experience over doing 3 of these, is that it's usually around 2:30 or so depending on how much time you spend with the Genius going over your car's features. The factory tour is currently suspended due to renovations, so the day is likely shorter. A neighbor picked up his X7 earlier this month and was done by 1 with skipping the museum tour.

Highlights from their email:

"Unfortunately, BMW Manufacturing has informed us that a factory tour will not be available for our participants until late 2024. A visit to the BMW Zentrum, BMW’s Museum and Visitor’s Center, will still be part of your delivery experience."

"Hotel accommodations are not included with this experience"

Build week 18, was offered an initial date of 5/29 (switched to 5/30) on 4/26. Car was a priority 4 from dealer for initial Build week 20, moved up to priority 1 when I locked in a deal approx. 2 weeks prior.

Hartness was wonderful. Highly recommended, and the restaurant was also very good. Book early- the rates are surprisingly good if you beat the rush. The room was an amazing value and does include a basic breakfast. The staff was exceptional. Best hotel experience I have had in a long time- and I stay in Marriott’s about 60 days a year.

Thanks for the recommendation. My PCD is on 05-22 so I booked for the evening of the 21st. Do they still offer the shuttle to the facility in the AM?

When you call the Hartness, ask for Grace. She's pretty much running the BMW option there. She's there 9-5 on weekdays.

Grace called me approx. 10 days prior to my arrival to confirm flight information as well as need for airport and/or PCD transportation. She was very helpful and informative. Will update with full report next week.
