That is stated in the read me file:

-Autotuning is currently disabled. So you will have to chose the appropriate map. Stg1, Stg2 and Stg3 get increasingly aggressive. Stg 1 is appropriate for unmodified (or lightly modified) vehicles. Stg 2 is intended for more modified vehicles (ie, downpipes or FMIC). And Stg3 is intended for a fully modified cars (DCI and downpipes and FMIC). Using a map that is too aggressive for your hardware/conditions will result in inconsistent performance.

I must have opened that readme 3-4 times and never saw it. Maybe because I'm on a little netbook, opening it in notepad and having to scroll right to left, I just missed it. Thanks again.

-These maps are mainly intended for 93 (or higher) octane fuels. The use of lower octane (91oct) may result in inconsistent performance.

4) 0% Ignition Correction is now MORE aggressive than before. This is because 0% IC results in positive ignition correction (advance). This means running 0% IC is more critical of octane/fuel quality than before.

Shiv, Based on these statements, anything you would recommend for us Cali users on 91?

If you turn on "Word Wrap" it will avoid that issue of having to scroll. Open the document in Note Pad, click Format, and select Word Wrap. Problem solved

The maps are "officially" for 93+ octane applications. But they have been known to work quite well on quality 91 oct (shell or 76... NOT generics) in decent conditions. It's just important to not run a too-aggressive stage for your conditions/mods. Of course, if you run PWM meth, there is no issue whatsoever. All our local PWM test cars run these new maps. On 91oct.

Shiv

I have a different question. Is it works that firmware 109 + tuneface V5.31 +MAP 7-29?
I want to try MAP 11-1 tonight. But if I dont like it can I just upload MAP 7-29 & not upload firmware?

I have DCI, high-flow catted DPs, FMIC and PWM meth. Only performance exhaust. Can I run stage 3? Seems to be what is suggested in the readme but my exhaust is more restrictive than what I thought FBO should be.

Also, what are the recommended map 2 settings for people who are not comfortable running 75/25 but instead prefer 50/50 meth mix?

My biggest issues with the 7-29maps is that they felt like they lost a tremendous amount of light throttle power compared to the 6-14 maps. Even my wife who almost never drives my car, thought she had somehow screwed up the car because to her she felt it lost a lot of power driving it around town. Of course I didn't bother telling her that I had just switched maps/firmware.

I think the biggest difference that I can notice is that the 6-14 maps seem to have instant boost no matter how far the pedal is pressed, so it feels more like a turbo car that doesn't have vacuum operated wastegates. Just switching to the 7-29 maps, I can immediately tell that I have to push the gas much further in before I have any boost kick-in. So driving around town, the car feels like it has no power until I really press the gas in. Has anyone else noticed this partial throttle power response difference between the 6-14 and 7-29 maps?

What's the cost to upgrade to the 2.5 rev? I thought there was going to be DIY article so we could make the changes ourselves?

i'm really enjoying these new maps (stage III). midrange torque is much improved, i'm struggling to keep traction in 3rd gear now. upper rpm's, the power is still very strong, and the maps are more rev-happy than i anticipated. overall, great update! looking forward to the auto-tuned versions of the maps!

I just called in an order to upgrade to 2.5.

It's $50 + shipping in my case about $21 + $100 refundable deposit with return of procede.

Pretty good deal in my opinion.

Map and firmware installed.

Map1 and Map2 are the same ?

It's possible to modify map1 or map2 in order to limit the max boost ? (map1 soft and map2 strong for example)
tnx

Shiv,

Has there been any considerations of dumping Map 3 and replacing it with a customized map? From what I can tell, no one is really using it. It doesn't seem to really improve mpg, at least not much. If using it for valet mode, I could just switch to map 0. I would love to gain another meth map with less aggressive attributes. Something that would cap about 13 psi but still utilize meth. That's about what I run when visiting road courses. Thoughts?
