i hate to be the bearer of bad news but that timeline seems really optimistic if you're doing PCD.

i ordered in february; car was "scheduled for production" on 3/9 (this is when you'll get the VIN); moved to "production begins" on 3/23; and arrived "at the port" on 4/9. i got luck with a ship being ready to go that same weekend, so the car moved to "in transit" on 4/12. the car arrived in port at brunswick, georgia on 4/24, and is likely already at the performance center by now (i cant get a straight answer from the BMW genius line).

regardless, the earliest PCD date i could get was 6/2 because they're really backed up with PC deliveries due to covid restrictions. i actually scheduled for 6/4. maybe with some of the restrictions now lifted, they will be able to reduce the backlog before you're car gets shipped...but my guess is that you'll more likely be an early august delivery.

that's a good link, thx.....just found out why my car was sitting in the Port of Halifax for like 6 weeks, ordered only allocation I could get and came with M Performance Exhaust whcih i didn't really want, but now i learn that ...

"The performance exhausts are added to the M vehicles (2,3,4,5,6,8) at the BMW centre at Port in Halifax. Apparently there was a backorder for the parts which is why several of the M vehicles were delayed from their original ETA’s."

Anyone ever heard of that? can't be shipped without exhausts as thye have ot drive them on and off the boat

Mine arrives at port of Charleston on 5/21 according to my CA, and I was able to schedule my PCD on 6/22, so about a month delay for me. YMMV

Your fine. Allocations are available in any color if you google maps search bmw dealers, see what they have online and call. I just picked up an allocation for a LBB,6spd and Executive Package package 2 days ago.

So I've gotten moved from Week 19 to Week 21 now, with a build date of 25 May, which is pretty crazy because thats my bday. Guess I cant complain about that.

I just called my local dealer here in MA and there is a HS, 6spd, exec pkg coming in 2 wks. Gave them my deposit.

Hopefully, its is 2 weeks and no delays

picked it up today and certainly a lively, tail happy bunch of real feel, seat of the pants car, even keeping it below 5k RPM all the time, well most of the time maybe, it definitely puts you back in the seat.....and the sound....this car has hooligan written all over it, will save that for the track, but headed out onto some local twisties to enjoy my learning curve, ....pulling out to pass a slow truck, matted it in 2nd, the wheel spin, slight little sideways slide, totally under control, but know that is going to addictive, forgotten what it is like to really drive a car, coming from an AWD hot hatch with only 50 less HP but can't tell you how different it felt...

Congrats! I'm waiting for mine to go into production and also coming from a lightly modded Focus RS. Could you please share more thoughts on the differences? What's better and worse?

hmm..think the RS felt more manic, edge of the seat, when the power hit it was like a slap in the face but in a good way if that makes any sense, very early days of course with only 300KM so far but that early read is that the M2 has a much more linear power band and you can really feel the torque curve more....at least by my feel. first gear, like in the RS seems short, ride is better, it's probably because I'm not used to a bimmer but shifts don't feel as sure as in the RS and the steering feel is maybe more vague, RS felt like a go kart...but again, early days. There is A LOT of hood to look over thank you IL6 LOL. Oh, and the RS flies under the radar a bit, no one really knows what it is maybe except care people, the M2C, everyone notices you

Don't think you'll regret it at all, I don't. I know I will miss the RS immensely and considered keeping it, but used car market is crazy and got way more than I asked, have fun and would be interested in your take on it

That was really tricky for me as I'm 200 miles from the dealership. Managed to get the PPF guys to squeeze me in during a 7-week backlog of appointments, based on being a multiple-time past customer, and them being sympathetic to my geographical plight. Glad now that I managed to git'r done.

I'm a touch closer at 70 miles away so I could keep delivery PPF on and take it home, but I wanna see my baby all sparkly
I plan to do some paint correction if needed anyway before I get PPF so I should be OK.
