I am not sure anyone is saying the colors don't change - in fact, I think that's why people like them (myself included).

The main thing there seems to be disagreement over is the amount of teal in the LBB - it is well documented that you don't think it's really blue, but it doesn't look that way to me (or others).

I see teal in certain online pics - but I don't see it when I am around our LBB M2 in the flesh. It can appear to be really dark at times, which surprised me - and I think "blue" every time I see it.

That was a very circular denial.

I see teal at times .. but I only think blue.

Well buddy. It's teal .. at times

LBB definitely has teal under certain lighting conditions. It was literally the first thing I noticed when I saw the debut of the M2 at the auto show as I walked up on it. At other angles it's all blue, teal seems to peek out here and there depending on the lighting and viewing angle. Same out on the road, like others said if it's sunny the teal comes out. I don't love it or hate it, but when it looks deep blue without any teal it looks amazing. It's a really nice color and the teal at certain angles doesn't bother me one way or the other. That said I've never been into loud colors. Was originally going to get BSM, but from some of the more recent pics I've changed that to HS w/black wheels.

The HS is not as big a surprise to many of us that attended Caffeine and Carbs here in CT. My principal comment remains... it did not look much like silver. You practically couldn't tell it was metallic unless you were up close. The color just looked gray. Yes, like a light Nardo. It did not seem bright to me like most silvers. Not really sure what to make of it.

How many owners/soon-to-be-owners bought/buying LBB because...

1) It's an awesome blue! Even if other shades of blue were available, I'm getting LBB.

-- vs --

2) It's either this teal looking shade, or a sea of white/silver/grey/black... (This will likely be me in a year or two)

You can add me to that list.

It's teal sometimes, it's "blue" sometimes, but it's ugly all the time. And it's a personal opinion, no one has to agree with it.

I guess LBB and SO will become the new MT vs DCT debate.

This helps me a lot. I wanted it if it was like Nardo but not so much if a traditional silver. Thanks!

I haven't seen the orange in person yet. I won't pass judgement on an color I haven't seen with my own eyes.

I have seen Long Beach Teal in person, and y'all know my opinion of it.

This teal vs. blue debate is comical.
Guess what?
There is no color called "blue".
There are limitless variations of hue, tint, and shade that fall into the spectrum of blue, but there is no color that is merely blue.
And guess what else: Teal is a hue of the blue spectrum.
So teal IS blue.
So is LBB with its teal-like color (which varies depending on the light)

And what if it wasnt?
Is there something wrong with teal?
It's a color, like all the others, which any individual may or may not like, and most likely like to some degree on a spectrum (it's rarely binary).

The only color that everyone can universally agree is bad is the baby diaper-hued Austin Yellow.
EVERYONE knows that was a mistake.

There is no "color", period. It's merely energetic protons that is reflected back in the direction of our optic nerves which is then registered by and interpreted by our neuronal connections.

"Blue" is on the more energetic end of the visible light spectrum in the range of 450 - 490nm, also the reason why blue light is considered as intense and straining on the eyes. Whereas teal, or cyan that produces a greenish-blue color rests within visible light spectrum of 490nm - 520nm. And it's less energetic than the blue range.

OMG.... Talking about LBB is so 2016.

Some legit questions and concerns for 2018:

Did the approach angle change on the comp significantly?

Do we know anything about ride quality changes besides guessing?

Is HS silver just Mazda Ceramic White with some gold flake?

The key word here is "spectrum".

It looks like a non-metallic light gray in the shade and silver in the sun. So a little bit of a Nardo look at times.

Nope, I am not allowed to share anything of that since I was within the gates of the premises.

If anyone wants photos of them, ask someone to go and sit next to the gate at BMW M HQ and they will drive in and out all day, but they look the same as a M2. Nothing too different other than two mirrors, a new bumper and new wheels...

I know this is way too soon and not appropriate right now but I'll ask anyway..

With the 2020 M2C coming next year, do you have any personal opinions of what changes could possibly be made for the last iteration in the F87?

I'm going to guess they'll just lazily just make some minor, minor adjustments to the rear lights and call it a day.

I'm hoping they'll ditch the blue/orange seats or add all-black as an option. Possibly HUD? Any chance that between now and the 2020 production that the factory could get some new paints?
