My options in order of prefetence were;
adaptive suspension sports auto (always had manual cars but this is a great gearbox....full auto, sports mode and manual paddles) M Sport Plus pack (442 wheels, HK stereo, M Sport blue brakes, LED headlights, headlight assist) Full black panel display heated front seats folding mirrors fold down rear seat folding rear head rests |

I wanted a 430d GC but with the extra BMW support and higher GFV the 435d GC was around the same monthlies so a no brainer really. Cars currently at the port and hoping to collect on 22nd!
Regarding options, I just went for the M Sport + pack, adaptive suspension and front sliding arm rest (only £35 and missed it on my current model) Originally added HUD but decided not to bother as I commute on the same roads every day and didn't see a real benefit. The only other option I'm starting to regret not speccing is the folding mirrors - that said I've not missed them on my current car having prviously had them.

When I queried why it was going to cost nearly double to insure the 440i (£600) versus my current M135i (£350) which I've had since 2012, I was told that, apart from other factors (like respective values), they load quite a premium when you change car because "the car is new to you and our statistics show that drivers have more accidents in unfamiliar cars".

No idea. But I have a feeling that diesels are, relatively speaking, expensive to insure compared to petrols.
I shopped around on line and the quote from my current insurers was better than anything I could get on line so I opted to put up and shut up...

When I went from my van back to car,
I had 13yrs ncb which are classed as commercial so I stood to lose them, start a fresh even though I hadn't been driving a commercial vechile for all 13 of them. So I had to find a insurance company willing to except them at a cost. I swear they make these things up at times, isn't 13 yrs driving on the road , 13 yrs of driving no matter if it's a van or a car. |

I always add my mum and grandad since day one of passing. Last years was £550 This year I did a new quote with direct line as comparison sites were not heap enough. Didnt add my mum or grandad and was £500. Added them and got it down to £452. Always add experienced drivers who have not had any convictions or accidents. It should always help. |

That's the main reason why i went with the 320d. My insurance would have been £1000 more on a 330d. I'm looking to get a 335d next November by which time I'll be 26 so I'm hoping the insurance won't be too bad

I went from a 320i to a 340i, full no claims but a recent theft claim ( stolen recovered), i'm 32 and there was pretty much no difference.
