Does installing this intake cause any issues or any lights to come on? I have heard people say that modifications like this need to be coded/flashed or they can cause problems or engine lights to come on?
Not sure if that is true that is mainly why I am asking. convey any updates on those videos? |

If you have a JB4 you wont get any light for sure EDIT: I thought the intake you are inquiring about was the N55. For the B58 intake we have not gotten a single check engine light problem

Will that cause the warranty to void or cause any issues if I have to take her to the dealer for work? I just picked up my 340xi two weeks ago and have been contemplating on what mods to do to make sure i do not mess up my warranty. |

Yea definitely no CELs, Rheingold shows no errors either. So far so good.
The noise is interesting at times... as it sucks in air, then you let go of accelerator... makes a loud-ish, hollow, echo sound haha. Would love to hear some flutter noises coming out of my B58 |

FYI to all
Remove the 4 silver metal clips from the OEM airbox bottom by bending them down, and then folding them back up, and sliding them down.

Installed mine today! Everything went relatively smoothly, but make sure you take of all the silver clips before tightening up the hose clamps. One of the silver clips is inaccessible if you're all clamped in.
The sound from the intake is a satisfying wooooOOOooSh that you can hear even with all the windows up. The sweet spot seems to be between 2k to 4k RPM at 25-40 mph. One thing that I found strange is that the sound isn't a constant tone when under throttle; it'll noticeably fluctuate in volume and tone when you're on the gas, but this is probably just engine management regulating the amount of air. Overall, very happy with this easy little install. Good quality product, easy install, and fun noises afterwards. Happy customer so far ! |
