they had the electronic versions on the vehicles at the performance center and I absolutely love the wheel.

I will probably be getting one of these shortly. Is it hard to install?

yes it does, you just need to transfer the module over when you do the install.

The Electric M Performance wheel is one of my favorite mods. Its actually a little bit thicker than the stock wheel and I highly recommend the electric version with the shift indicator lights.

Do you have this in your car?

I had one on an AMG E63s and found it to be just as slippery as the leather version except it gets grimey really fast. Collects tons of oils and dead skin. Frankly, pretty gross.

Don't get the electronic version at all. Too busy and redundant. Why not just slap a (insert japanese brand) HKS sticker on your BMW as you rice it up.

I had one on my M3 CS, I loved it. So much so I have just ordered one for my M4.

Coat the alcantara in Gtechniq I1 smart fabric and it stops so much sweat/grease/oil/dirt being absorbed, prolonging the life of it.

I still don't know how to use it, I just use it for shift lights.
I see what you did there

I'm considering the non-electric version. I realize that the heating function is lost, but can the original trim be used? I hate the CF steering wheel trim.

Yep, our steering wheels are heated. I think it's part of the ZEC package.

I was actually looking at the electronic steering wheel last year around November. Found it for about $1460 but I didn't pull the trigger. Now it went up in price as far as the discount goes to over $1500 but the msrp has always been $1800. I guess I shouldn't have waited but if I ever see a bigger discount maybe I will order this time around. The non eelectronic one is really nice also and those are definitely better priced.

I'm waiting for this one....I have sweaty palms but FUG iT. I'm getting it anyway. At least this will give me a leather surface if sweaty, alcantara if dry.
It also doesn't hurt that it looks BOMB

I decided to get the electronic steering wheel. Will see how it is when I take delivery in a few weeks. I have HUD as well but I wanted the other display options that it comes with. Just a heads up , the electronic wheel is no longer on the pricing sheet for VPC. I understand it's been removed due to limited supply. My CA was able to get it added through his contact at VPC.

Would like to hear opinion from folks who have the electronic one and what they use it for and most importantly how the alcantara is holding up. Any advise on how to keep it clean.

+1. This is a way better looking one then the current version. I think I might turn original one into a side table

That wheel is sick. When does it come out? How much will it cost? Will you buy it for me?

I'm waiting for that one too, ever since it popped up in the M2 performance accessory list.

Looks awesome! How did you get yellow stripe on the wheel? It goes well with your yellow stiching.
