the US will get an xdrive version with 300hp.
people already hating on this fwd for no reason. Half the people commenting are not even going to buy one anyway. Im hoping it has a liftback and not just a tiny trunk opening. This is the perfect replacement for my long gone but not forgotten E46 sedan. turbo 4, 300hp, awd, 30mpg.. whats the hate in that?

So it’s going to get the new 3 series rear lights style and a new interior.
Shame it’s FWD or Front bias AWD. No thanks. WTH are they teasing it six months from the reveal and 12 months from launch? |

I don't think so. Hard to get much from that pic. The only version that might be of interest is an xDrive version

So disappointed that it's FWD. If they made a RWD/4WD M2 Gran Coupe, it would tick all the right boxes for me

Not RWD.. I'm definitely one of the half the people commenting that aren't going to buy one (now). Just like I own an E84 X1 and haven't bought an F48.. I agree that BMW has abandoned E30, E36 , E46, and E90 sedan fans by pushing the Model currently badged as 3er so far up in size, however returning with a FWD/AWD variant only because Mercedes A and Audi A3 have been eating your lunch in the segment you pioneered, and then to now just follow ... At the very least this should be capable of AWD/RWD like the M5 .. |

Packaging. It's simple. My Mk7 has more room inside than an F20 five door by a large margin. And this thing will likely have more interior space than a much larger E90.
And did no one actually drive an F30? Oh boy, it was rwd, and so are tons of other snooze mobiles. If you want to clip apexes and trail brake deep into turns, are you really buying a non M BMW anyway? Okay, why? This is a daily driver, not a track hound. Not the basis for the next great M car (or sadly, truck.) I enjoyed a friend's E36 M3 sedan, but we had a B5 A4 at the time that wasn't any larger on the outside but sure fit four adults better. Now I'm not saying I love the fwd conversion at BMW. Our E84 was great and I'd never buy an F48. I really wish BMW had used the Mini brand, or Morris or, well, anything before creating fwd BMWs, but whatever, if it gives them an A3/A/CLA competitor, cool. |
